Pierre Williams is an established ceramicist whose work is inspired by art history. The figures have been developed by also looking back in time to classical sculpture and the work of Rodin as well as the contemporary work of Anthony Gormley.
His work plays with how the human form interacts with different forms, poses and performances in contemporary functions.
The surface pattern can be inspired by anything from looking at contemporary ceramics and textiles patterns or focusing on historical architecture and interior design.
Pierre's enchanting statues set out to recreate the same qualities as the antique collections in museums whilst also utilizing contemporary processes and aesthetics.
