Emma Wilson
Emma Wilson is a jeweller and maker based in Aberdeen who specialises in using silver and enamel. Central to Emma's work is her fascination with enamel and the alchemy of working with it. Exploring how it bonds to metal and react in the kiln and how it shifts and changes along the making process.
The inspiration for each piece is taken from collected pebbles, the Scottish landscape and preliminary watercolour paintings; where Emma traces the shapes, colours and often tactile forms to recreate in silver and enamel. Her work is about capturing the essence of the landscape and seascape in an abstract and sensory way, trying to evoke the feeling of the landscape without reproducing it exactly.
