Jonathan Hargreaves is a professional painter and illustrator living in Heaton Chapel, Stockport. His paintings are characterised by fluid and painterly brushwork (or sprezzatura) allied with hard-won and keenly felt observation. For him, the magic of painting stems from the luscious properties of paint and the potential to breathe life into a subject.

Jonathon has appeared three times on Sky Arts’ Landscape Artist of the Year, winning his heat in 2017. His last solo show at the Norman Foster designed North Wall Gallery was a great success. His next major exhibition is in early 2021 at Stockport War Memorial Art Gallery.
