Supplier Spotlight - The Trove

by The Biscuit Factory

We recently caught up with Sarah Miller, founder of The Trove, a creative studio designing and styling weddings, elopements, and events across the North East, Yorkshire and beyond. Sarah recently styled a shoot in our new venue space The Garden Room, click here to see the shoot.

Tell us a little about you

I live in the North East with my fiancé Sean and our beautiful daughter Beatrice. I feel most at home by the sea, or in the countryside, and you will often find us camped out in the Lake District or rambling through woodland in search of waterfalls. I am creative to my core and have far too many hobbies to mention!

Tell us a little about your career

I started my creative career specialising in lingerie design whilst at university, and I then went on to work in print and marketing. It has always been my dream to have my own creative business, so when I spotted a gap in the market for modern, design-led weddings in the North, it felt like the perfect opportunity to start something new.

As a business we design, curate and style our couples weddings to bring their vision to life. We also manage all creative suppliers for our clients, for example flowers and stationery, to ensure cohesion and it also relieves a huge amount of wedding planning pressure from their shoulders.

Over the past couple of years The Trove has flourished into a successful, established brand and I couldn’t be more proud!

What can couples expect when working with you?

We pride ourselves on offering a super personalised, friendly approach and we are always happy to chat with our couples and offer help and advice whenever needed. I’m extremely detail oriented so you’ll find us perfecting every last inch of the venue on the wedding morning; we really pour our hearts into each and every wedding.

What do you love most about weddings?

From a styling perspective I love the calm right before guests begin to arrive, when we see all of the months of planning and chatting come to fruition, everything looks perfect and we just know the couple are going to love it!

Personally my favourite thing about weddings is seeing family and friends come together, dressed to impress, to enjoy a day filled with celebrations, love and laughter - there’s simply nothing better! We are so incredibly lucky to play a part in such special days.

What are your top tips for couples planning their wedding?

Don’t rush into making decisions - you’re about to plan an event within an industry you’re likely unfamiliar with and have little knowledge of. Take time to really research suppliers to find styles and personalities that you align with, rather than choosing someone because you feel under pressure and might not be the best fit for you!

Invest in professional help - your time is precious and this will save you lots of stress, and often money, in the long run.

How can couples work with you?

We work with couples in a few different ways. Our ‘complete’ design and styling offering is our most popular, whereby we design how your day will look, and source and manage all complimentary suppliers.

Our ‘petite’ on the day package is perfect for couples who know how they want their day to look and are happy to take on the planning themselves, but want us to be there to style on the day. We also offer our hire collection on a dry hire basis for DIY couples.

As every wedding is unique, we tailor what we offer to suit each client's individual needs.

We have limited availability remaining in Autumn 2024 and good availability throughout 2025.
