Part of the New Light Prize Exhibition 2020

Steven Wood is a painter currently working and living in South Shields, creating works in oils, watercolour, and mixed mediums. With no formal training he has gained his experience by experimentation and finding new techniques.

Over the years Steven has completed commissions for private collections and worked with The WWF, interior designers both in the UK and abroad with canvases up to 8ft x 6ft and various e-book publications. He was the overall winner in the 56th Essex Open with his creation Colour by Touch - aimed towards the visually impaired and the blind - prize winner in 57th Essex Open and The Richeson 75 international portrait prize USA. He is currently exhibiting in The Royal Society of Portrait Painters annual exhibition.
