Cat Moore
Cat Moore is a self-taught linocut printmaker based in rural Northumberland. She is inspired by the big skies and rolling hills of her home county as well as the wild and rugged landscapes of liminal northern wildernesses - the Cumbrian fells and the Scottish highlands and islands.
Cat's practise is underpinned by an ongoing exploration of light, form, colour, storytelling and mark-making. She strives to create glimpses into the everyday and to capture the immediacy of small moments - the light falling on hills and water, a moving flock of birds, the lines in a freshly ploughed field. Cat uses all of the major linocut techniques to create her work and finds joy in the complexities, imitations and graphic potential of each one.
